Exceptionally rare, complete seating group by Tage Poulsen, consisting of two lounge chairs, a matching ottoman and the large coffee table from the same series, made in Denmark. The Danish architect, furniture designer and artist is known for his distinctive, powerful designs in solid wood, today associated with Scandinavian Brutalism. Complete ensembles by this designer have become extremely hard to find – this set allows you to furnish an entire, stylistically cohesive lounge area in one go.
All pieces are crafted from solid oak and share the same powerful, architectural design language: finely crafted, yet deliberately archaic in form. The lounge chairs follow a clear, additive construction principle – the armrests are made of horizontal boards, the supporting structure of vertical boards, while the backrest is formed by upright slats. Every component remains visible and contributes to the overall effect.
The loose seat and back cushions of the chairs are made of thick, reddish-brown leather. Generously filled with foam, they offer outstanding comfort, while the warm leather creates a beautiful contrast to the light oak. The ottoman cushion also rests loosely on the frame, so the stool can be used flexibly as a footrest or as additional seating.

The coffee table is built without a single screw. All connections are ingeniously designed twist joints: the beams are turned into pre-milled recesses and lock precisely into one another. The top folds open in the middle on brass hinges, revealing a natural linen cloth suspended within the construction that serves as a magazine rack and practical storage for blankets, books or magazines. The table has been carefully cleaned and refurbished, and the brass hinges have been replaced.

Condition: Beautiful vintage condition – sturdy oak frames with only minimal age-related wear, leather cushions with a lovely natural patina. The coffee table has been cleaned, refurbished and fitted with new brass hinges, including the original linen cloth. A rare ensemble of Danish craftsmanship for exceptional interiors.
