Barcelona Liege in braunem Leder // Barcelona Daybed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for Knoll International

Dimensions: approx. 196 × 98 × 65 cm
(77.2" × 38.6" × 25.6") Width × Depth × Height
Barcelona Daybed, designed in 1930 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and produced by Knoll International. As the last director of the Bauhaus and one of the most important architects of the 20th century, Mies van der Rohe shaped modernism like few others with his maxim “less is more”. The Barcelona Daybed is among his best-known furniture designs and is still produced by Knoll in its original form today.
The daybed combines strict geometry with the highest level of craftsmanship: the dark walnut frame rests on chrome-plated tubular steel legs and carries the generous mattress with its characteristic grid of hand-welted, tufted leather panels and a matching bolster. It is upholstered in Knoll’s soft brown Venezia leather, which gives the clear form a warm, refined presence.
Knoll labels are found on the underside of the cushion and on one of the chrome legs, and a Knoll certificate of authenticity is included.
Condition: Showroom piece in almost new condition – hardly any signs of use, leather, frame and chrome in excellent condition. An attractive alternative to buying new, at a substantial discount on the list price. A timeless design classic for discerning interiors.
